2. AI Apocalypse? Earth’s Population Could Plummet to 100 Million by 2300
Professor Subhash Kak warns that AI-driven job automation may lead to a dramatic global population decline, reducing Earth's inhabitants to around 100 million by 2300.
The Details:
AI is expected to replace most human jobs, leading to widespread unemployment and making it financially and socially unsustainable for people to raise children.
This shift could turn today’s major cities like New York and London into desolate ghost towns.
Kak points to declining birth rates in regions like Europe, China, Japan, and South Korea as evidence of this trend.
He suggests that reversing these demographic trends is extremely difficult given the complex motivations behind family planning.
Echoing Elon Musk, Kak proposes space colonization as a potential safeguard for humanity's survival.

As automation threatens to render many jobs obsolete, the resulting economic and psychological impacts could lead to a significant decline in birth rates and, consequently, global population. 3. $1.5B Fake-AI Startup Implodes: Builder.ai’s Massive “Natasha” Scam Exposed
Builder.ai, once a Microsoft-backed unicorn, filed for bankruptcy after revealing its flagship “AI” assistant was powered by 700 human engineers—not machine learning—and its revenue was inflated nearly fourfold.
The Details:
The company, once valued at $1.5 billion, claimed it could build apps “as easily as ordering pizza” through its AI assistant Natasha, but actual development was done manually by ~700 engineers in India
Builder.ai reported $220 million in revenue for 2024, but an internal audit slashed that figure to $50–55 million, revealing massive overstatement .
The startup allegedly engaged in “round-tripping” sales with India’s VerSe Innovation—booking fake invoices to appear more profitable
Lenders, including Viola Credit, froze $37 million, and Builder.ai owes over $100 million in cloud-service debts, triggering insolvency filings across the U.S., U.K., India, and Singapore
U.S. prosecutors have launched probes into the financial practices, with lawsuits and asset seizures underway; founder Sachin Dev Duggal has stepped down but remains under scrutiny.
