Learn from this investor’s $100m mistake

In 2010, a Grammy-winning artist passed on investing $200K in an emerging real estate disruptor. That stake could be worth $100+ million today.

One year later, another real estate disruptor, Zillow, went public. This time, everyday investors had regrets, missing pre-IPO gains.

Now, a new real estate innovator, Pacaso – founded by a former Zillow exec – is disrupting a $1.3T market. And unlike the others, you can invest in Pacaso as a private company.

Pacaso’s co-ownership model has generated $1B+ in luxury home sales and service fees, earned $110M+ in gross profits to date, and received backing from the same VCs behind Uber, Venmo, and eBay. They even reserved the Nasdaq ticker PCSO.

1. 100 Minds, One Mission: Manus Redefines AI Research Power

Manus just dropped Wide Research, a tool that can run 100 fully autonomous AI agents at the same time—each capable of independent thought, yet working together. Launched July 31, 2025, it’s built for massive, parallel problem-solving like product analysis, data scraping, content creation, and report generation. Rather than being locked into pre-set functions, each agent is a complete AI in its own right—turning Manus into a serious challenger to the AI elite.

The Details:

  • Manus’s Wide Research can launch more than 100 general-purpose AI agents at once, each with full capabilities rather than limited presets.

  • These agents work in parallel but coordinate on large-scale projects, enabling massive productivity jumps.

  • Use cases include web scraping, competitor analysis, multi-document research, and large-volume content generation.

  • Unlike other multi-agent systems, Manus isn’t giving “lite” versions of AI—every agent is a fully powered instance of Manus AI.

  • The release positions Manus to challenge entrenched AI leaders by enabling users to tackle previously impossible workloads in minutes.

Why it Matters:

Wide Research isn’t just a software update—it’s a scale shift. Running 100 fully capable AI agents in concert could fundamentally change how individuals and companies execute complex projects. It’s a direct challenge to AI incumbents, forcing them to match Manus’s brute force approach—or risk being left behind. The real question: is this the dawn of the “AI swarm” era, and if so, who controls the swarm?

2. AI Love Is Big Business: Companion Apps to Hit $120M in 2025

AI companion apps are booming, with 2025 revenue projected to top $120 million. New data from Appfigures shows that the market—spanning virtual friends, lovers, and fantasy characters—is growing faster than general-purpose chatbots. In the first half of the year alone, companion

apps brought in $82 million, saw downloads jump 88% year-over-year, and attracted major players like xAI and Google. But with 17% of active apps pitching themselves as “AI girlfriends,” the growth is driven by some very human desires.

The Details:

  • AI companion apps let users interact with synthetic personalities, either pre-made or user-created, designed to act like real people or fictional characters.

As of July 2025, 337 revenue-generating AI companion apps exist worldwide, with 128 launched this year alone.

  • The sector generated $82 million in the first half of 2025, putting it on track for over $120 million by year’s end—64% higher than the same period in 2024.

Downloads have hit 220 million globally, with 60 million in the first half of 2025—an 88% year-over-year jump.

  • The top 10% of apps earn 89% of total revenue, and 33 have crossed $1 million in lifetime spending.

  • Big tech is getting in on the action: xAI’s Grok recently introduced anime and animal companions, while Google hired Character.ai’s founder.

  • The most popular niche is AI girlfriends—appearing in 17% of app titles—far outpacing “boyfriend” or “fantasy” companions.

Why it Matters:

AI companions are quickly becoming a major consumer tech trend, blending emotional engagement with monetization. The growth is being driven by loneliness, curiosity, and novelty—factors that could give these apps staying power well beyond a passing fad. But with most revenue concentrated at the top and romantic AIs dominating the space, the question isn’t just how big the market can get—it’s whether these virtual relationships will reshape how people connect, or replace real connections entirely.

3. $500M Down the Drain? Musk Shuts Down Tesla’s AI Dream Machine

Elon Musk has officially shut down Tesla’s long-hyped Dojo supercomputer project, calling its second-generation design “an evolutionary dead end” and shifting all resources to the company’s newer AI5 and AI6 chips for both self-driving cars and humanoid robots.

The Details:

  • Dojo, once positioned as Tesla’s crown jewel for AI training, has been scrapped just weeks after Musk touted plans to scale it in 2026.

  • Tesla’s in-house D2 chip, meant to power Dojo 2, is shelved in favor of AI5 and AI6 chips manufactured by TSMC and Samsung.

  • Musk says consolidating to AI5/AI6 avoids splitting resources and allows simpler, cheaper supercomputer designs by packing many chips onto a single board.

  • The $500M Dojo facility in Buffalo now faces an uncertain future, alongside questions about Tesla’s Cortex AI cluster project.

Why it Matters:

Dojo was central to Tesla’s autonomy ambitions since 2019, pitched as the engine behind full self-driving and humanoid robots. Its abrupt end signals a major pivot in Tesla’s AI hardware strategy—and could raise doubts about long-term promises to investors. With EV sales slipping, brand damage mounting, and robotaxi tests drawing criticism, Musk’s bet on AI5/AI6 will need to deliver fast to keep Tesla’s tech narrative alive. The bigger question: if Dojo was the future, what does it mean when the future gets canceled?

“𝐀𝐈 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐦𝐲 𝐣𝐨𝐛!”

Sure.
It’ll just take the parts of it people actually value.

Because here’s the thing...
It’s not about replacing you.
It’s about replacing the tasks that make you valuable.

And once those tasks are gone, what’s left?

We’ve seen this before:
- Photography went digital.
- Accounting went software.
- Marketing went automated.

The professionals who stayed relevant
Weren’t the ones who fought the tools.

They were the ones who led them.

The choice isn’t “AI vs. you.”
It’s “AI without you” vs. “AI with you leading.”

The second one still wins.
Every. Single. Time.
