Google has discontinued an AI-powered search feature called “What People Suggest”, which organized crowdsourced health advice from online discussions, as scrutiny grows over the company’s use of AI in medical information.

“What People Suggest” used AI to summarize advice and experiences from strangers online and present them as structured health insights.
The feature was initially promoted as a way to combine expert medical content with lived experiences from people with similar conditions.
Google says the tool was removed as part of a broader simplification of search and not due to safety or quality concerns.

2. xAI Faces Lawsuit Over Alleged AI-Generated Sexual Images of Minors
Elon Musk’s AI company xAI is facing a federal lawsuit alleging that its Grok image models enabled the creation of abusive sexualized images of identifiable minors. The plaintiffs argue that the company failed to implement industry-standard safeguards to prevent such misuse.

The Details:
Three anonymous plaintiffs filed suit in California federal court, seeking class action status for individuals whose real childhood images were allegedly altered into sexual content using Grok models.
The complaint alleges that xAI did not adopt common technical safeguards used by other AI labs to block the generation of explicit content involving real people and minors.
Two plaintiffs were notified by criminal investigators that altered sexual images of them had circulated online, including through third-party apps that rely on Grok’s infrastructure.
The lawsuit argues that because third-party applications depend on xAI’s models and servers, the company should bear responsibility for resulting harm.

3. Could Chatbots Worsen Psychosis in At-Risk Users?
Researchers are warning that AI chatbots’ tendency to agree with users may unintentionally reinforce delusional thinking in vulnerable individuals. A new analysis suggests these interactions can amplify false beliefs rather than challenge them, raising concerns about mental health safety in the age of AI.

Researchers from King’s College London analyzed more than 20 cases where chatbot interactions appeared to reinforce unusual or delusional beliefs.
Many cases began with everyday AI use but gradually escalated into all-consuming engagement tied to spiritual missions, romantic attachments, or beliefs in interacting with a godlike intelligence.
The study proposes the term “AI-associated delusions”, emphasizing that AI may reinforce vulnerabilities rather than directly cause psychosis.
The researchers found no evidence that AI triggers psychosis in people without prior vulnerability, but they warn that it can amplify pre-existing mental health risks.
Experts recommend developing digital safety plans and training clinicians to routinely assess AI usage as part of mental health evaluations.
