1. Would You Trust an AI Over Your Doctor? Microsoft Thinks You Should.
Microsoft has unveiled the MAI Diagnostic Orchestrator (MAI-DxO), a groundbreaking AI system that outperforms experienced physicians on complex medical cases—achieving an accuracy rate more than four times higher. Designed as a coordinated team of AI agents, MAI-DxO doesn’t just match human intelligence; it challenges the very foundation of clinical decision-making. Paired with OpenAI’s o3 model, the system marks a bold leap toward what researchers are calling “medical superintelligence.”
The Details:
MAI-DxO simulates a virtual medical team, using specialized AI agents to handle diagnosis, test selection, and cost efficiency in tandem.
Researchers developed a new benchmark (SDBench) containing 304 complex cases; MAI-DxO with o3 achieved the highest performance to date.
The AI-human showdown saw MAI/o3 solve 85.5% of cases correctly, while seasoned doctors (5–20 years' experience) averaged only 20%.
Cost analysis revealed AI spent $566 less per case on average—cutting costs while increasing diagnostic accuracy.

2. Zuckerberg’s AI Empire Grows—At OpenAI’s Expense
Meta’s AI talent war with OpenAI is heating up. Just weeks after headlines about $100M signing offers, Meta has reportedly hired four more top researchers away from OpenAI—intensifying Silicon Valley’s most aggressive AI poaching spree to date.

Meta has reportedly hired Shengjia Zhao, Jiahui Yu, Shuchao Bi, and Hongyu Ren—four highly skilled researchers formerly at OpenAI.

3. Warning: China’s New Open AI Model Could End U.S. AI Dominance
Baidu is open-sourcing its powerful ERNIE AI model in what experts call the biggest public AI move from China since DeepSeek. The release is expected to slash model costs and challenge the dominance of U.S. players like OpenAI, Anthropic, and Meta. With performance rivaling top-tier models at half the price, ERNIE could trigger a global price war, flood the market with Chinese AI infrastructure, and heighten national security concerns.

Baidu is shifting from a proprietary strategy to open-sourcing ERNIE, its most advanced generative AI model, in response to market pressure from DeepSeek.
